I guess I wasn't expecting it to be so skinny. I measured the widest part at 2 1/4 inches, right across the bottom. I have a lot of ties that cost in the $100 neighborhood and I would not put this in that category of quality but for what I paid with the discount at Sierra, it's a fine tie and looks very nice. Probably more suited for night life than a professional office setting but maybe that's just me. If I was a much smaller/skinnier guy this would probably work better for me but at 5' 10" and 190 lbs I think this might be a bit too skinny for most occasions for me.
