4.0 out of 5 stars. Worked well

I bought this pack for a snowshoe hike to a 10th Mountian Division hut, this is my first backpack purchase and first time ever using one. First off, I got the Salsa color and am thrilled I didn't get black, the color helps it stand out among other packs. I was pleased with the amount of space and what it could hold. Other people's packs had more outside small pockets which this doesn't have much of. I'm still in debate if I like fewer small pockets or not - at least I didn't get confused about what pocket things were in! But the little ones on the hip pads were nice for a snack and the compass. I took a few falls in the powder on the way and was pleased with how the pack stayed on and didn't shift much. The integrated rain cover helped me choose this pack over another equally priced pack. Being hydration bladder compatible was a requirement I had in a pack, and this is. But when I received the pack I realize the bladder I had was too long, and searching for one to fit was difficult. I eventually found the CamelBak Antidote 100 oz short, and that works great.
My pack weighed 30 lbs on the return trip, remember I'm new to this and that was enough for me, but once the pack was on me and I was moving it didn't seem that bad.

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Spacious compartmental backpack

I purchased this bag for my trek to Nepal for Everest Base Camp. It is a big bag with different compartments for you to separate your sleeping bag and other things. You can open the main section from the top and the front of the bag which makes accessing your belongings much easier. Although it's a big bag for my frame, when used correctly, the weight is on your hips and it's easy to carry the load.
