  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. strange fit

Liked it a lot in terms of quality and materials.
Found the fit to be a troublesome, front part fits fine, however the heel pocket is wide. When I tried them on my heel started going up and down, like a pump.
    Did not like at all:
    - no shoelaces.
    - insole is way too flat

I had to send them back

I wear a size 13 and am flat-footed. These boots are extremely comfortable for me. The elastic laces hold great retention so you don't need to worry about them flying off. They keep your feet warm and dry. I would recommend to anyone on the fence with this pair of boots. Patagonia is excellent quality.

I bought the Patagonia Japhy Wool Chukka Boots (forge grey) for warmth and comfort. I got both of these reasons from this product. The only drawback on this boot was the elastic laces that were provided on this boot. I replaced them with flat shoe laces according to the color. On the Japhy forge grey; I replaced them with a black flat shoelaces at 45" on a size 9.5 boot that worked out well. The lack of shoelaces is the reason in my opinion for a 4 star rating. The reason for shoelaces is more control on how snug or how loose the fit one desires as well as breaking down the material of the boot when applying the boot on. I have gotten several complements on the boots. This purchase has helped me to not wear my wool hard sole slippers as much either. I also think the product is overpriced and one can apply for some kind of discount program with these boots from the distributor, that would be a big plus. Apply for any discount program that is available to the consumer cause it will be worth it. I applied for one and waited several days and received a 54% through my cart daily flyer and jumped at the opportunity.
