Most Helpful 4-Star Review

4.0 out of 5 stars. They run large at 11.5 and aren't perfect but are very good at the price

The toe is a little tight and the heel is a bit weak and uneven but the ball is well-cushioned. Overall, these are very good boots. In Red Wing, I wear an 11.5, but the 11.5 in these boots was at least a size too large. The 11 was a good fit. The toe is a little narrow, but not harmfully so. I have a foot that tends narrower than average. The heel is not so great but has improved with a little wearing. After just a day or two. the heal evens out a little. But on first try, it was uneven in cushion and construction - so much so that I think that may be the reason they're on close-out. (2nds?) The sole at the heal showed some uneveness - concaved just a bit and off-camber. IN the cushion at the heal, it seemed that it was weaker on the inside line. All of these problems were lessened on wearing.

I say this all while acknowledging that they're still a very good deal - even for Chinese-made boots they're better than average and very good at this price with a discount.

They're more stylish than Blundstone and comfortable enough for daily wear - but not as much as Blundstone. It's saddened me for some time that Clarks moved production to Asia and they're quality shows it but there's very few in the marketplace that haven't moved and so the quality has become something of a moot issue. Even Blundstone shows signs of lower quality after their move to Asian production.

I paid 30% off at close-out for these and they're exceptional boots for that price. I don't know if they would hold up to daily wear but that's only an opinion at this point.
