There's 5% elastane which is a new material for me to try. I'm 5'10" tall and 160# and the XL fit a little looser than the picture but that's what I wanted. I don't wear skin tight clothing if I can help it! The top is really nice.

4.0 out of 5 stars. larger and scratchier than other Icebreaker baselayersReviewed by honeybee from NY state on Monday, April 20, 2015I took off an Icebreaker 200 top I was wearing to try this on and it was immediately clear what the "new improved fit" advertised on the box is. It's just bigger. Much longer in the body and sleeves and looser. I could easily fit an old Icebreaker baselayer underneath this – which I may well do because it is also somewhat scratchier than the usual Icebreaker fabric. Not sure if this is due to the 4% lycra or just not as good quality merino. I can say that pulling off my several seasons old 200 baselayer (which is so wonderfully soft and well made that I could wear it for days on a hike and it retains shape and never has a hint of odor) and putting this one on was a major downgrade in comfort.
The admiral color is more black than navy blue, and be aware this is a half not quarter zip. The zipper ended well below my bust– much longer than the model image.
I gave this 4 stars because I am partial to wool garments even when they are not perfect. -

(She has at least 10 Icebreaker tops all size S.) This one, because of the 4% elastane, fits tighter: skin tight. Not uncomfortable, just shows every line, and the fabric is 150, so rely on your imagination. I suppose this fit is desirable by some. It's a fine piece if such fit is intended. We returned it.
