5.0 out of 5 stars. Excellent value, but too large for a 1.1 cu.ft. microwave ovenVerified Buyer Reviewed by mmm from Home! on Wednesday, April 13, 2016This steamer is just a tad too large for my 1.1 cu.ft. microwave oven -- the handles hit the sides when the turntable tries to revolve.
I'll use it in the conventional oven --
The smaller version of this steamer is excellent. -
5.0 out of 5 stars. Works really well!Verified Buyer Reviewed by airehead from Denver on Friday, January 1, 2016Thought it would be a return-is very soft-even floppy, but threw a bunch of veggies in there put it in the microwave and they were all cooked perfect in spite of some that were more dense (carrots/cauliflower/broccoli) and not so dense (pea pods)

5.0 out of 5 stars. Innovative Container for Heating Frozen MealsReviewed by Anonymous from Canada on Wednesday, November 4, 2015I have not used mine for long, had it packed away for a gift, but brought it out and have used it twice. I prepare my own frozen meals in small tin foil loaf pans, stews etc and usually heat them. not in a microwave but using a steamer (cover with saran wrap). I placed an airline casserole dish inside, which contains the food and provides stability and placed it in the oven at the appropriate temperature (airline casserole dishes, porcelain, durable are on sale on ebay). Well I was impressed, the stew was nice and juicy and not dried out. Sometimes when you place a meal in the oven for heating it dries out, like frozen macaroni and cheese. I used silicone finger grips or silicone potholders to remove from the oven and had not problem with the steamer being too hot for handling. There was no unpleasant smell either and my stew is made with garlic and herbs. I have not tried cooking from scratch, raw meat and then adding ingredients, but I can vouch that as a reheating container in the oven this product is exceptional. I write this review to counter all the negative reviews I have come across detailing unpleasant smells, lack of stability, and the steamer being too hot to handle. Perhaps the smell problem some are encountering has something to do with silicone in general as I noticed an unpleasant smell coming from my silicone ice cube maker when I first bought it but that is no longer a problem, but there has been no smell issue with the Mastrad steamer. My only regret is that I did not buy one with a stage but I will keep a look-out for one.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Grreat streamer!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Yoshi from Oregon on Tuesday, August 25, 2015I purchased this to try out. It works great! I ended up buying more for gifts for a fraction of the price I paid for the first one.
At first I was a little leery because the steamer is not solid and made of silicone, but if you grasp it by the handles, it is fine. -
5.0 out of 5 stars. great product!!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from texas on Wednesday, August 12, 2015i really liked this silicone steamer. I've used it for steaming and cooking veggies and it works great for that. you need to be careful because when it gets hot it gets flimsy. you just need to hold it with hot pads. loved it I'm gonna try to bake a cake in it too. the size is good too.

1.0 out of 5 stars. Had to throw it outVerified Buyer Reviewed by Sammie from Indiana on Tuesday, August 11, 2015I used this to make a favorite chicken dish, using fresh herbs from our garden. The chicken cooked fine and in just a few minutes, with the meat nicely perfumed with garlic, rosemary and basil. Unfortunately, those smells were also infused into the steamer itself. Several washings and a soak with baking soda did nothing to remedy it. With the low, low cost of the steamer, I took the loss. Pity. I cannot recommend this item at all, because I have too many questions about the quality of the material.
