The medium (10-12) fits nicely and is slightly large but he is small for his age. The waterproofing works perfectly. This is labeled as a mid layer but in Florida is performs well as an outer layer. My son likes wearing this jacket over his hoodies. The jacket has a fleece lining and is pretty warm. The blue color is very nice and the jacket looks great. Really happy with the jacket. 5 stars

Great quality, very odd fitReviewed by Momof3ontherun from Illinois on Sunday, May 28, 2017My daughter was excited to receive this jacket, thinking it would be perfect for spring skiing and recognizing the Helly Hansen brand/logo from the gear worn by staff of her favorite ski resorts. The quality seems very high, which I would expect from the Helly brand. Unfortunately, the fit of the jacket is very odd. My daughter is 5'1" and 90 lbs and the torso of the jacket was very roomy on her, and the arms were several inches too long, but it seemed that if she grew any taller, the torso portion would become too short. For comparison, I tried it on myself - I'm 5 inches taller, 50 lbs heavier and have a 34C chest. The arms were STILL much too long on me and although the torso fit fine (I was able to zip the jacket over my "girls"), it was on the short side on me. I'm trying to imagine the person this would fit well...I guess maybe someone who's about 5 feet tall and on the more full-figured side, with very long arms? If that describes you, you're in luck - snatch up this jacket at a great price!
