I wear a size 12ish and have this item in both large and xlarge. The Large fits fine, but I've got hips, and the waistband, while not tight, is placed strangely. It has a very high waist. I wish the pants were short waisted like me, but I realize I'm in the minority, so they will probably work great for others. The xlarge are roomy and the longer length is really nice. The waistband always slides up to my natural waist, so the large length is just a little short for my taste- it hits the top of my foot when the waistband slides up to my natural waist. As another reviewer commented, the string in front is decorative only, and I also cut them off. The string just gets in the way and comes untied. The pants are prone to static. I do love the patterns- the grey is more grey than pink but the photo makes them look more pink than grey. I also got the pink with polka dots and the pattern is cute. The pants are very lightweight and springy fabric with a lot of stretch. Will stretch to accommodate any size. I got a bit warm wearing them even in an air conditioned room during summer, so they don't let your legs breathe as much as they should for being so lightweight.
I recommend these pants because the price is right! -

Very soft but cool and nice and stretchy! The "draw string" is just an accent ribbon which I will cut off. The elastic in the waist is not binding at all. I am a size 12 and got a large.
I wish I needed more pairs but my dresser is bursting with nightwear as it is... -

These run true to length, but for tall gals like me, the fabric will stretch a little longer if you hang them in the closet for awhile.

The elastic waist stretches a lot, I usually wear an XL but the L is just fine in these pants. I would recommend taking them out of the dryer before they are completely dry and just hang. If you over-dry, they will shrink a bit.
