Actually much nicer than I expected but pay attention to the dimensions. It has a VERY SOFT ticking sound. If can be heard if it is on the nightstand right next to you. A few feet away it would be undetectable.

Big easy-to-read numbers. I've had it a week and it seems to be keeping accurate time. Absolutely silent. My only complaint is that the metal thing on top doesn't stand up like in the picture, but flops to the front or the back
