The pants are awesome! I have never been disappointed by an Outdoor Research product.

Best soft shell I've ever ownedVerified Buyer Reviewed by Bronco from NJ on Wednesday, November 12, 2014I have been wearing the MH Makalu soft shells for the last 4 years, but have 2 OR soft shell jackets that I love. I have an athletic build, about 5'11" 220 lbs and OR gear seems to allow that extra space I'm always looking for. These are definitely the most feature filled pants I own now. The venting side zips are great for me since I run very warm. The fabric is tougher than other soft shells, ventia material. The zip out gaiters are a nice bonus though I doubt I'll use them. Plenty of pocket space, suspender loops, scuff guards; I can see these lasting a very long time.
