On top foot stayes protected from sun,so you don't get goofy tan lines from open spots like on some summer shoes. I will be testing these out kayaking and see how they do as soon as the water warms up a bit. They look to be discontinued so what you see is what you get as far as stock. At the extreme current discount can't go wrong.

They look cool but not sure that they would have lasted very long based on the build quality. Lastly, seem like they run about a half size bigger than I normally wear.
As an aside: had to pay $7 to return these to Sierra Trading Post. Must have missed that in the return policy. No more shoe purchases from STP.
