  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. good drag, light reel

The drag is smooth, has no starting hesitate, Max drag is more than enough for fight crazy summer steelhead and fall salmon, The drag adjustment is very easy and just stay there during fighting fish. sealed drag don't need care. The reel is light, line capacity is good. finish is durable. this summer, the reel help my catch 50 plus skamania, still like new. always submerged in water, always put on sands and mud, once I put it in water and shake it, reel couple turns, shake little more, it will be ready back to work, I love Litespeed, very much. Now I have two of 3.5, one of 4, one of 3, all of them are my work horse. I recommend it to several of my friends, they all like it too.

So far I am very happy with the reel. It is extremely light for its size and tolerances are tight. I would recommend.

I can highly recommend this reel. I'm using it for steelheading and so far it's worked very well. The new model doesn't really offer any significant benefits and so it's worth getting the Mirca 5 if you want to avoid full retail pricing.

About Lamson

When Lamson designers and engineers set about to revolutionize fly fishing reels, they threw out the existing assumptions and started from scratch. Beginning with a blank piece of paper, they re-designed, re-thought, and re-tooled fly fishing reels to achieve a crucial balance and optimal performance. Lighter materials like titanium and polymers took the place of steel, wood and cork. Simplified designs meant fewer components, lighter weight and amazing longevity. Along the way, Lamson shaved so much weight from the reel that larger, better-retrieving arbors were incorporated into the design. They topped off their list of impressive advancements with a high performance, conical polymer alloy drag system. The result? Precisely machined fly fishing reels constructed from space age materials that are so light, they seem to defy gravity.
