It is a medium weight and is versatile with the inner zipper closure to be open or closed depending on how warm you need it to be. My son will wear it to work and is dressy enough to be a step up from wearing a snowboard/ski jacket when going out to dinner, concerts, etc. Is dressier than the picture shows online.
