Mad Rock got started in 2002, producing highly technical, well-made and affordable rock climbing shoes. Being owned and operated by avid rock climbers, Mad Rock was already ahead of the game when it came to producing functional gear that even the most seasoned climbers would appreciate. Today, Mad Rock has sold well over a million pairs of climbing shoes, and still continues to innovate and expand. Products from Mad Rock besides climbing shoes now include mountaineering boots, harnesses, chalk bags, quickdraws, crash pads and climbing accessories. According to Mad Rock, innovation isn't just a word - it's a challenge to be met daily. For that reason, Mad Rock uses the latest materials and up-to-date technologies while striving to maintain the superior quality and functionality of their climbing shoes, chalk bags and gear.

4.0 out of 5 stars. SizingReviewed by Trad Climber from Adirondacks on Wednesday, July 28, 2021This is a review only regarding the sizing of these shoes--I have yet to climb in them and therefore cannot comment on their performance. The four stars above are therefore meaningless.
I recently purchased a number of sizes of this shoe for our organization's climbing supplies. The first thing I noticed was the length of the shoe, and therefore tried on a couple of pairs to see how they fit. In short, a women's size 12 Lyra (marked on the box as a 44 Euro) is approximately the same length as my size 41 (Euro) LaSportiva Miura. Now, the Lyra is much higher volume and has a more aggressive toe, meaning I could curl my toes more than I typically do in the Miura, but nevertheless, I felt that were I to wear these shoes, I would be in a 43 Lyra (size 11 W) at best, whereas the size 41 Miura is rather roomy--when I am looking for higher performance, I wear a 40 or 40.5.
All this said, I am often a slab and crack climber and so don't love higher volume shoes with downward pointed toes and so the fit of the Lyra felt a bit different to me than my standard fare. -
