There is ample room in the skirt and the fabric drapes well to cover figure flaws. However, like other reviewers say, the pockets seem placed too low. They are still usable, but one has to reach for them. Be sure to use a color-catching product when washing this the first time as the dye does come off, not enough to change the look of the dress but it could damage your other clothes.
I am 5'4" and weigh 155. The top part (bodice?) fits comfortably and covers bra straps but the skirt portion feels like a tent on me. I kept the dress anyway because it was comoftable to wear on extremely high heat days.- Best Uses: Casual Wear, Date Night/Night Out

It does have side seam pockets, but they were placed so low that they were not useable without putting your hands in them and hiking up the dress. I returned it.
