I had the same ski long underwear and a fleece top and had free movement of arms and shoulders. I am ecstatic with this jacket. I purchased a lovely coral pink. I am ready for the coldest day of the year of year in New England.

It has all the right features - ninja cuffs, lots of pockets, waterproof, pit zips - but the arms are absurdly narrow. This would be great if you have very very skinny arms. For my 110lb rock-climbing daughter, it wouldn't work at all. Wish I had because we have really liked this brand of jacket in the paat.

It definitely does run narrow. I loved the look and feel of the jacket and considered getting an even larger size and then having the sleeves shortened BUT the hood does not fit over a ski helmet, so that was a deal breaker for me. It would have been nice if the description said that.

If you are just going to wear as a kick-around-town jacket...I'd say they fit true to size. If you intend to layer clothing at all ~ oder one size UP! They are definately trim fitting. Having known that, I bought size 8 - although normally I wear 4 or 6 - it fits perfectly (I am 5.6' 125 lb)...Lightweight and flexible. Love it!
