I bought it for my son- who is 5'6" 145- a large has plenty of room for layers or to grow. The color in the picture doesn't do the coat justice... It's better in person. It's charcoal gray, light gray and purple... Not girl purple but the purple a man would paint his muscle car. It's not bulky or puffy -it's rather thin. Can't speak to the warmth OR waterproof... We have yet to see any precipitation since I bought it..
