It's hard to find 100% silk base layers, but they are still my favorite for breathing and comfort. I wear them under flannel lined jeans for extra warmth when needed and always under thinner pants. The med. was true to size. I'm only 5'4" but the length was fine tucked under my socks. I am more irritated by too short ones. The waist was a natural waist so higher than some jeans but fine too and not too tight as some higher waist versions have been.

I bought a small and they come so far past my waist that I have to fold them over. Otherwise they are very comfortable.

It might work if I was willing to pull them up a few inches on my legs but they're pretty fitted on my muscular calves and would always be falling down. Also not as smooth and silky as the ones they sell at a certain LL outdoor company (although I'd be willing to make the compromise for the price if they had fit!)
