Most admirable feature in my view is that it's cut to NOT fit snug in the chest and body. Many have pointed out this leaves room for layering but also means that without layers on it allows for great freedom of movement and a comfortable, non-binding fit. The fact it's also not cinched in any way on the bottom edge adds to this. That last bit also gives it a bit of a "boxy" look for you fashion mavens out there. Just a great man's everyday or work coat. You WILL have to add additional layers underneath for ultra cold days as the insulation is not super thick (also comfortable). I live in North Carolina and it's working out perfectly for me here. Perfectly comfortable with just a long-sleeve shirt on underneath on days/nights just above/below freezing.

Not super heavy and bulky with plenty of shoulder room. I returned the XL because it was enormous. STP made return and exchange for L as easy as possible.
