The shaft is lined with some sort of material, that I think must be for wicking moisture, and I have not seen it on any of the other Twisted X boots I own, so it might be special to this style or something new they've added. Sadly, I will be returning these boots because they are just a little too snug in the calf for me, but I have VERY large calves (17.5 inches at the widest point), so this will not be a problem for the majority of people.

Nice comfortable boot once I had the correct size.
