Started with hopeful vision, Two Star Dog began when brothers Allan and Steven Boutrous moved to Berkeley in 1992 and began creating jeanswear made of eco-friendly hemp, a resource that can be cultivated with little or no pesticides. Later the company became one of the first in the country to design and market complete sportswear lines made from this fiber. Eventually Two Star Dog broadened to other natural and imported textiles, expanding their production to include men's and women's clothing lines. Even the company's name traces its origins to African tribes who used hemp in their rituals under the canis major and canis minor star constellations. Two Star Dog clothing is available in boutiques and retail stores around the world.
