On the black ones at least, it's gold. I don't really wear gold, so I sent them back. Otherwise, super cute shoes. I'd say they run true to size or just a little bit small. I wear an 8.5-9, and the 8.5's were a bit tight. Overall, great shoes but just not quite right for me.
