About Scientific Anglers Sharkwave GPX Stealth Taper Fly Line - Floating, Weight Forward

Closeouts. With top-shelf performance, the Scientific Anglers Sharkwave GPX Stealth Taper fly line is truly one of the best-all-around lines for casting large dry flies, nymphs and streamers. Built a half-size heavier, the textured surface allows the line to sit higher in the water with less drag, and the added weight up front helps load fast-action rods.

I use this to weight my 10' 4 wt rod for short distance tail water casting of large, wind resistant yarn indicator. The texture allows me to cast effortlessly. And if it is anything like the previous generation sharkskin, which has already outlasted RIO flylines I used in the past, by a factor of 4 already, and it still has no cracks. At STP discounted price of $40, it was a no brained!

Tried this on my seven weight as I liked on other rods. Just did not work well on a moderate action rod. Probably best reserved for fast action rods ;/

I was a little hesitant to purchase this line as it is has the SA texturing to it. The only noticeable difference is the noise of the line as it goes through your guides. I'm not crazy about the noise, but I've gotten use to it. Overall I am very happy with the line. It loads my fast action rod well and shoots like a dream. Also, the tip floats great and it seems to roll-cast better than non-textured line. You aren't going to find it for a better deal than STP has here! If it is available in your line size, don't wait. This stuff goes fast.
