5.0 out of 5 stars. Warm and LightweightVerified Buyer Reviewed by Jane his wife from Oregon on Tuesday, November 20, 2018I got this for my husband to replace a Patagonia Nano Puff jacket and he is enthusiastic about it. The sleeves are a bit longer than he was used to, but he finds that he likes that length when he extends his arms. The slight stretch of the fabric is also a factor in providing greater comfort.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Brilliant jacketReviewed by Bullers from Canada on Monday, October 29, 2018So stoked to get this jacket @ $97 with coupon. Like one of the other reviews I’ve never seen this posted so low elsewhere either so I jumped at STP offering. This is my second MH insulated jacket and sizing is spot on. I’m 6’2” and 220 with reasonable athletic build. L fits well with room for one layer underneath (but I do tend to prefer trim fit). I normally take an XL in Marmot tops but MH tops are always L for me.

1.0 out of 5 stars. Mountain Hardwear Stretchdown RSVerified Buyer Reviewed by Starchild from NYC on Tuesday, January 30, 2018I can not believe how thin and cheap this jacket is!! Where is the down and why does it look so cheaply made!! I understand that it is 750 down fill but I have a Basin and Range that is 800 down fill and fluffier than the Mountain Hardwear!! I went outside the box and purchased Mountain Hardwear!! I usually purchase Marmot!! Well, I will never stray off the path again!!! Marmot is way better and I'm in the process of looking for a person to give that Mountain Hardwear jacket away to! ??

5.0 out of 5 stars. Quickly became a favoriteReviewed by SanguineHiker from Maryland on Thursday, January 18, 2018Purchased this for cold weather hiking, and it is great! It’s also great to wear around town. I wear this when the temp drops below freezing, and at 15 ounces with a 750 water-repellent down fill, it is extremely comfortable, water repellent, and wind proof. I am 6’ 200 pounds and the large is perfect by itself or with a layer or two underneath.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Excellent !Verified Buyer Reviewed by Scott of the North from Minnesota on Thursday, January 11, 2018I’m a pretty serious hiker, and a very serious gear geek. So naturally I did my homework. I was in the market for a new lightweight down jacket, since my old Marmot Zeus was full of Tenasious Tape repairs. The Stretchdown RS has gotten great reviews, so it was already on my list when I saw this amazing deal at Sierra. I’m not shilling for the company guys- I mean it when I say that I could not find this jacket ANYWHERE- even on clearance- for much less than twice the price. So that made up my mind and I placed the order. I’ve been wearing the jacket for a couple of weeks now in Minnesota in January. The warmth is just what you’d expect from a 750 fill down- great. The length, gratefully, is a bit longer than my Marmot, so it doesn’t ride up as inconveniently and my pack belt hits it just right. I’m a big guy- 6” and 265- and the xxl is just right. As you’ll see in other reviews, the “stretch” factor in the Stretchdown on this model is diminished by the exterior fabric, Mountain Hardwear’s Ghostlite ripstop nylon. The RS model is the technical version of the jacket, more suitible for my use, and still super comfortable with plenty of give. There’s a non-RS version available with the MH’s proprietary Stretchdown fabric (which is on the inside of the RS) on both the inside and outside, reportedly providing even more stretch. It weighs a bit more and isn’t as packable, which is why I opted for the more technical version. One othe note- the pockets all around on my jacket are very generously sized. That may seem like a small thing, right up until you find that your oversized phone won’t fit. My iPhone 7 Plus fits easily in the external Napoleon pocket, right where I like it. So overall- great jacket, great customer experience (first timer with these guys, BTW), ang great price.

2.0 out of 5 stars. Way too long...Verified Buyer Reviewed by slcterp from Missouri on Wednesday, January 10, 2018Seems like a good jacket - super lightweight and warm, but I am 5'8", about 170, and this jacket came down below my hips. I could not sit down in it. Not sure why they seem to be making their MEDIUM jackets for people close to 6' tall or higher. Sleeves and chest were just right.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Great value on a warm coat.Verified Buyer Reviewed by Spokane Dad from Spokane, WA on Tuesday, January 9, 2018I am 6'1", 175 lbs with small shoulders. The medium is a little snug across my back, but sleeve length is fine and I can move freely enough while skiing, including with a fleece under it. Large was too big. Coat looks great. Color is as shown, not too bright of a red.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Very pleased thus farReviewed by Auburngrad from Southeast Tennessee on Tuesday, December 26, 2017I ordered and received this jacket for Christmas. I am very pleased with the quality, and fit. I find the fit to be comparable to other Mountain Hardware jackets that I have from years past. I looked at all of the down jackets that STP had, and knew I wanted MH, as their jackets fit me well. I am pleased with how warm it has kept me thus far. I live in the south, but we have been in the 20's and windy lately. I have only noticed two feathers poking out, but was able to work them back in the jacket.
