Boots appear well made. Not sure about the cork footbed. These boots run roomy to large. I would order a smaller size but not available so I will keep them & try them on with different socks & times of day . I ordered another OTZ style in a smaller size to see the fit.

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. They'll do

I didn't read the reviews before I got these, or I would have known about the cork insole. I wanted a shearling boot/slipper that isn't suede, for wearing around the house and to go outside with the dogs.

I wear them without socks, so cork insole is no good. Also, that Birkenstock-style ridge isn't where my toes are, so I took those right out, cut a shearling insole from an old pair of Uggs, and now they are perfectly comfortable and warm.

They aren't cute, but good quality and that's what I wanted. If not for that cork insole, I'd give it five stars.

Not good for people who like to go barefoot in their shearling lined booties because they are incompletely lined...the heel section (brown patch section) has no lining (although there is shearling lining above it) and the boot slipped on my heels, exposing them to the back side of the brown leather patch which is somewhat abrasive Also, right foot was easy enough to get into but the left foot required too much maneuvering and pulling on...despite being loose/slipping in the heel when on. So though I liked the design, I did not like the execution and they would not serve my purposes as good house shoes for cold floors and cold feet. I thought the cork insole was great and it is removable. Not sure how their sole would suit real outdoor walking...maybe OK on city sidewalks but questionable for anything else?

The inserts are cork and very stiff. I changed out the inserts with inserts from my running shoes, now they are comfortable to wear.

About OTZ Shoes

The story behind OTZ Shoes began more than 5,000 years ago with a man exploring what would eventually be named the Otztal Alps in Northern Italy. Today, that man is known as Otzi the Iceman. After learning that Otzi had been discovered wearing a simple pair of flat-soled deer hide and bearskin shoes, the founders of OTZ Shoes had an epiphany: Modern footwear had simply become too complicated. This notion soon led the creators of OTZ sandals, flip-flops and espadrille shoes to start building footwear with premium, lightweight textiles and a simple, zero-drop design that follows the natural shape of the foot. The result is footwear that feels instinctively comfortable. Try a pair of OTZ Shoes and rediscover simplicity.
