5.0 out of 5 stars. Fantastic Fleece

Admittedly I have an outwear fetish. I love Mt. Hardwear products and had long been intrigued by their monkey man fleece. I got it in black. It is lightweight and an XL fits great. It protects from the wind very well too.

Mountain Hardwear makes excellent products and this jacket is no exception to their quality. I bought this for my husband and he loves it. Fit is true to size. He tells me this is light weight yet very warm. STP had the best price for this jacket.

I had the previous version :the monkey man,and it met all my needs
Then I see this new version,It changes the fabric from plartec to mhw's own,and it works just as good as the old one.
  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. Closing out for a reason

I have another Monkey Man in a different color and love to wear it often, so thought this would be a nice second one. The size I had was XL, but the Moncay in XL was like a XXXL - arms to my knees and enough fabric for two jackets. Promptly returned and went down to a Large, but it is still larger than my Monkey Man XL. I'm a normal sized 6ft/200lb dude, but the Moncay Large arms are long, past my fingers and the elastic wristbands aren't snug enough to keep from sliding onto my hands and the bottom waistband is not snug around my hips. However, the arms are tight on my forearms and fits snug in the chest and midsection. Bottom line: the proportions seem to be all messed up with this jacket - tight where it should be loose, and loose where things should be tight. Tags are still on, debating on return.

About Mountain Hardwear

Starting back in 1993, a small group of outdoor industry mavericks broke away from the pack to follow a less-traveled path. From the very beginning, the primary goal of Mountain Hardwear was to create an outdoor gear brand with a sharp focus on technology-driven design, superior performance and hardcore reliability. The result of this function-first mentality has been an array of incredible Mountain Hardwear jackets, clothing, tents, backpacks, sleeping bags and accessories. Today, after more than two decades of industry-leading innovation, Mountain Hardwear continues to set new benchmarks for dependability in the toughest conditions on the planet.
