Water will most definitely have a difficult time penetrating this jacket. The jacket is cut to allow for most hunting and fishing activities, freedom of movement is excellent.

Ordered my usual large and ended up getting an XL. The large fit like a glove but only room for my base and a light insulation layer. I wanted a shell I could use all winter so I went with the XL and can add a down jacket to the mix without compressing the down and the fit is still excellent. Sat out in pouring rain - wonderful, tracked a deer - open the pitzips and kept cool when I usually either sweat or have to stop and undress. Bought the bottoms also after using the top and had to do the same switch from L to XL. The large of either would have made a perfect turkey setup but the XL isn't to big alone and can layer better for winter. The waist on the XL was the only unfit part on the XL pants but pulled down fine with a belt.
