5.0 out of 5 stars. Great for Outdoors

I love these pants and wear them a lot. They are light weight but I can wear them in winter (with a base layer) because they do a good job of repelling wind. They also are stain resistant. I carry all kinds of stuff with me everyday and these have the best pocket layout of any pants I own. The one thing that has me puzzled is the snap down belt loops (one each side) they come unsnapped while I'm putting them on and are a bit of a pain to re-snap (not too bad though). I'm sure there is a purpose for them... I just can't figure out for the life of me what it might be!

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Super Pants

Use mine at the shooting range -- Sporting Clays Course is rugged (Constructed in the Florida under brush) and these are well constructed but made from tough light materials that protect legs while fabric wicks away heat. After first pair bought two additional. Had to order larger size but after that ---- everything is outstanding. Sierra pricing and service made for the "Perfect Deal".

i like these so much i was going to get another pair. wife saw them wanted me to return them. i told her they are for hiking not fashion.
she said it does not matter they are totally uncool and ugly. so i hid them. they look well made. i think they are true to size.

I would call these a "Gentleman's Hiking Pants". Not for any kind of outdoor use that I do. Pants material is way too thin for any protection from rugged trail or off trail use. I am not talking about weather, but wear and comfort issues like sitting on the ground or a rock, going through brush, etc.... Any activity where abrasive use on the material, would be an issue in my mind. These pants would wear out quick with my usage.
These remind me of something a car camper might wear to look like an outdoorsman. Construction is good, material is light, but not for real world use in my opinion. Returned to STP.

About Craghoppers

The story behind Craghoppers jackets and apparel began in 1965 when a group of friends from Yorkshire, England started planning a trip to climb Mt. Everest. At the time, options for dependable, high-performance outerwear were pretty scant. Rather than settling for less than adequate gear, the friends decided to create their own, and the Craghoppers clothing company was born. Half a century later, Craghoppers jackets, pants, shorts and shirts are still helping people bag summits and stay comfortable on their adventures all across the globe. With features that range from lightweight, UV-resistant fabrics to Insect Shield® bug repellency, Craghoppers clothing is designed to get outdoors and go places.
