He loves them! He says they grip great and awesome ankle support. He applied DWR prior to the hike just in case. They are breathable, comfortable, and sturdy. No break-in was necessary.

They are so perfect he forgot to take them off all day. He says they are the best hiking boots he has ever owned. I promptly ordered myself a pair of Asolo Horizons and feel the same about them. They are light, supportive and feel like they pamper your feet and ankles. These are the first Asolos we have owned and we are both total converts! The soles are especially gripping in all conditions.

I consider these a back packing boot able to carry a load in hot dry weather. Non goretex. A big plus for me. I do not like the goretex for hot weather here in FL.Verry well made boot with comfort out of box.

He found these boots on line (a couple of years ago) and this is his 3rd pair. He doesn't have to wear his brace because they support his ankle. They are also very comfortable and since his right foot swells they are easy for him to get on.
