I didn't think I would like the chin strap and might cut it off, but it's actually okay...pretty soft and flexible. Even looks good untied. Otherwise, the hat is really and fits my 7-5/8 head just right.There is an adjustable tie inside to make it smaller. The brim can be shaped like or cowboy hat or bent down, or rippled around for a casual effect.
