This jacket is killer - so warm and so light, unbelievable. It does run a bit small, so I just ordered a size up.

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. A Good, Lightweight, Warm Jacket

I bought this jacket for my son and sent it to him in Iowa for Christmas. Iowa winters can be harsh, but he says the Marmot is very lightweight and really warm. It also fits him well, although he has gained some weight around the middle. At 55 years of age, he likes the red color, too. I read many positive reviews about this jacket before buying, and they have turned out to be accurate. My son reports that it's an excellent coat, well worth whatever I paid for it
(which wasn't much, thanks to Sierra).

This is a top quality down jacket. Runs a little small as previously stated but not very drastic. This jacket is extremely warm and well constructed.

We got this coat for my husband. We live in MN where the winter is bitter. It keeps him really warm and he really loves it. He is 6'6" with long arms, we got an XL and it is a good fit.

About Marmot

Conceived in a university dorm room by a pair of climbing buddies, Marmot Mountain Works first opened its doors in the spring of 1974 in Grand Junction, Colorado. At the time, the base of operations was a 100-year-old stone building. That same year, the first Marmot down jacket was produced specifically for an action flick called “The Eiger Sanction,” starring legendary actor Clint Eastwood. In the four decades since, Marmot has continued to engineer reliable gear that exceeds the expectations of outdoor athletes. Today, Marmot tents, backpacks, outerwear, clothing and Marmot sleeping bags are still pushing the limits in the planet’s most challenging conditions, from the summits of the world’s highest mountains to the deepest river basins.
