Conceived in a university dorm room by a pair of climbing buddies, Marmot Mountain Works first opened its doors in the spring of 1974 in Grand Junction, Colorado. At the time, the base of operations was a 100-year-old stone building. That same year, the first Marmot down jacket was produced specifically for an action flick called “The Eiger Sanction,” starring legendary actor Clint Eastwood. In the four decades since, Marmot has continued to engineer reliable gear that exceeds the expectations of outdoor athletes. Today, Marmot tents, backpacks, outerwear, clothing and Marmot sleeping bags are still pushing the limits in the planet’s most challenging conditions, from the summits of the world’s highest mountains to the deepest river basins.

5.0 out of 5 stars. A StealReviewed by Old Geezer from Alaska on Thursday, April 13, 2023I have this bag and I have used it maybe 14 times. I bought it before it was on any type of sale, I really love Marmot bags, they excel at bags and down jackets. (I also have a down expedition suit, Marmot knows down and does it right) I live in Alaska and its perfect for subzero temps when you have no other heat source in your tent but your body. Was never cold. The loft (goose down, the best you can get) and Pertex fabric are light in weight but heavy in comfort. I put my boots in a trash bag at the roomy footbox in the sleeping bag. Keeps them warm overnight. Do not sleep in your boots. Excellent quality. You can NO LONGER get this from Marmot. Grab it now.

2.0 out of 5 stars. OK but didn't meet expectationsReviewed by El Barracuda from Austin, TX on Wednesday, March 15, 2023I've heard that the Marmot Variant is a top notch hiking jacket so I had my hopes hight. Unfortunately, I was disappointed when seeing it. Better order a size or two up on this Variant hybrid unless you want the jacket like another layer of skin, too. I was a little disappointed in the zipper quality and zipper size as well. The arm length is also with an NBA player in mind, I guess, as it is too long. Marmot must be going for as light weight as they could here but some stuff (like zippers and zipper pulls along with a good hood adjustment option) should not be sacrificed in my opinion.

4.0 out of 5 stars. A little thinner than I had hoped, but still niceReviewed by Snow Advisor from Stowe, VT on Wednesday, February 8, 2023These are made out of a Polartec Powergrid(?) fleece which is a great product. I wore these under insulated pants on a 0 degree day and was comfortable.
Only didn't give 5 stars as I had bought hoping they were more like a Powerstretch fleece thickness. -
4.0 out of 5 stars. Gorgeous sweater butReviewed by Bobby from NY on Saturday, January 21, 2023This is a gorgeous sweater, attractive and warm, but the shirt cuffs are irregular.
One sleeve features a tightly hemmed closure. The other, more of a fabric roll
without the tight closure.
STILL A GREAT VALUE, even with this imperfection. -
4.0 out of 5 stars. Very warm, mind the buttonsReviewed by Frank from Kansas City on Tuesday, January 17, 2023Nice, warm, comfortable shirt. Looks to be very well-made, so I was surprised to see a button on the floor. Fortunately, it was just the upper cuff button, not one that really matters much, but it fell off the first day, the first morning I was wearing this shirt. None since! Liking it, but eying the buttons.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Happy LegsReviewed by Querque Girl from New Mexico on Thursday, January 12, 2023These tights are a must for colder climates. I own 5 pairs and have been living in them this winter. They keep my legs warms, are soft, and fit well under jeans. I also wear them hiking. And, as a bonus, they are 7/8 length, which is perfect for my short legs.

5.0 out of 5 stars. I liked it so much I bought two moreReviewed by Mike from Lake Tahoe, CA on Monday, January 9, 2023I don't usually wear flannel but I love Marmot so I decided to give it a try.
I bought the red and the blue and I'm glad I did.
It's very soft, lightweight, and warm.
The colors are vibrant, especially the blue.
I definitely recommend the Marmot Bodega shirts -

The model in the photo doesn't do it justice.

2.0 out of 5 stars. Nice glove but poor fit in fingersReviewed by Taos Dave from New Mexico on Monday, December 26, 2022This is a well made glove but the fingers are extremely short. The glove fit through the girth as predicted for the size but the fingers only are sleeves from just below the knuckle making it impossible to grip a ski pole. Very disappointing.
