5.0 out of 5 stars. so far, I really like it (one week old)

This jacket is light weight, nice feeling texture...high tech look, blocks the wind but breathes too, I haven't tested it in rain yet....it's supposed to be waterproof . Very good zipper with good zip protection at chin, zips high. I like that in the wind. Good pockets, good fit, the sleeves are a bit long but with velcro at the wrist, you can make it how you want (if tight, you have to undo the velcro in order to get the jacket off). I bought black. I'm 5"4' and 112 lbs. and petite except at the chest. I was inclined to get the xsmall...but I worried it would be snug across the chest....I find these fabrics cut like that, so I bought the small instead. It just fits across the chest, so I think the xsmall would have been a mistake. But fits nicely, there is a little extra room in the rest of the fit, but I figure the room will allow an extra layer for the cooler weather and it still looks good and is very comfortable. Again, sleeves a bit long, but very fitted. As I write this I realize that so far, I am really liking this jacket! My husband is jealous...I have to find one for him now!

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Good Lightweight Jacket
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Outdoor girl from Reston, VA on Monday, February 16, 2015
I am 5'6", about 135 lbs (an athletic build w/ broad shoulders, but a small chest) and the size Medium fit, as long as I do not try to put any thick layers on underneath it (the shoulders would be too tight then). If I got a large, I think the jacket would be too big around the waist. I have not had a chance to wear this jacket outside yet...it feels way, way too light to wear in 30 degrees (which is what my weather has been) - I think I could use it in 30 degrees if I were out XC skiing or snowshoeing, but to just walk about, the warmth would not be sufficient. However, I can wear it under a winter parka as an extra layer and think the wind blocking property may help there.

The cut is very flattering and I really liked the blue color - vibrant and cheerie.

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Had Another Almost Like It

This was an impulse purchase. I didn't really need the jacket, so when it arrived cooler thought prevailed and back it went. However, ,it was a lovely jacket. Well made, like all Marmot products (my personal favorite!) ordered the green, very bright, but I liked it. I could tell it would be perfect for running. I ordered the medium, it was a little too big, which surprised me...so, even tho I returned it , I think it would be a great jacket!
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. super nice lightweight jacket,

I really like this jacket, even though it is lighter weight than I thought I was getting. I don't know if I will be able to use it for XC skiing, like I hoped, but it is a nice shoulder season jacket for Montana. I am a size 12 and the large fits very well. The blue is really pretty and I get compliments every time I wear it.

About Marmot

Conceived in a university dorm room by a pair of climbing buddies, Marmot Mountain Works first opened its doors in the spring of 1974 in Grand Junction, Colorado. At the time, the base of operations was a 100-year-old stone building. That same year, the first Marmot down jacket was produced specifically for an action flick called “The Eiger Sanction,” starring legendary actor Clint Eastwood. In the four decades since, Marmot has continued to engineer reliable gear that exceeds the expectations of outdoor athletes. Today, Marmot tents, backpacks, outerwear, clothing and Marmot sleeping bags are still pushing the limits in the planet’s most challenging conditions, from the summits of the world’s highest mountains to the deepest river basins.
