I like the fleece, which on the outside is soft in a tiny grid pattern, with the texture of fine corduroy. I got my normal XS which fit OK but not roomy enough to layer over anything. The S would have been better for layering, but it had too long arms (I'm 5'4", 110 lb., with normal length arms). What I dislike is the fabric piece that covers the zipper pull on the outside when it's zipped up. It's an extension of the fabric sewn onto one side under the zipper, but the part you see in the front over the zipper pull is the smooth back of the fabric, and it's also finished at the edge with the same stitching inside seams are done with, both of which make it look cheap. I plan to remove that piece. Also, I find Columbia clothes hit and miss, and this was no exception. Of 5 I tried on in the Columbia store, all but one had a crooked zipper, which I find more often in Columbia clothes than any other brand, no matter where I buy them.

Medium fits acc. to size although the shoulders/upper arms are a little tight. Able to layer over a thin top and/or under a larger jacket. Moderately high neck that's not constricting. Have worn it for casual use (not hiking or aerobic activity) and was pleased with the fit, feel and style.

The soft gray trim around the neck, bottom and cuffs are a great addition to the style as it keeps the fleece cleaner (always a problem with white long sleeved tops). The fit is true to size and the quality excellent as I find to be true with Columbia products.

The fabric isn't the usual fleece…almost has a cording to it, which amps up the style factor in my book. I am a busty gal and the XL fit me perfectly with a little room to layer.
