It appears to be well made and has a nice feel to it. Comes in a very nice carrying bag. The only negative I have is that I expected it to come ready-to-go with line, which it did not, it has an empty reel.

Redington Torrent 9' 5wt with 5/6 Redington Surge ReelReviewed by redeyehawk from New Hampshire on Thursday, March 20, 2014The rod is med/fast, somewhat stiff as expected from reviews I read...it does power the line out. I casted a 6wt on the lawn and it handled well. Rod is attractive, the handle of nice quality cork is 5/8" shorter than comparable Greys rods, woven fiber reel seat, nice single ring hardware. Case is well designed, easy to get the rod out. Reel is a good match for the rod, has screw-off spool, cast aluminum, spins true, nice design, a tad on ther heavy side, but satisfactory. Very good value. This is about as big a rod as I go, I'm sure it would handle up to a 6# trout or smallie.
