The heels are a bit lower than the pictures show, they're basically a pair of slippers. My true foot size is 9W, ordered 9.5D and they seemed a bit smaller than other shoes, definitely would not be able to wear them with socks. Other than that the construction is what one could expect from merrell, which is to say nothing less than great, and it's quite comfortable as well. That said however I don't think this is a style everyone will be able to get used to - the bottom of the shoe makes it seem like you can go hiking with it, but if you were hiking would you want to go without been able to wear socks? and have the heel "flip-flop" while you walk?

They are easy on and easy off. I wear them at the lake and walk back in comfort. They are not stable when walking on the side of inclines though as my heel slides.

Then I purchased another pair for my brother in law's birthday. They just like to wear them around the house because they are easily slipped on to go outside and they're comfortable. So I bought a total of 3 pairs and now my nephew has been eyeing them up and he will probably receive my 4th purchase.

Good traction so far during wet spring.
Only downside is color is very vibrant. Almost glow in the dark bright. I thought from picture they would be more subdued.
