It is more stiff and a little different then my sage however it will give you the mechanics and skill to step up your casting.

I was amazed at how much it feels like a full size rod when casting and thrilled with being able to fine tune my casting as well you do need a larger area then a living room to use. Only complaint is not having an attachment for line to rod it just hangs there. Hence the 4 stars

The two-piece rod gives a true fly rod feel to a practice session and the tapered line makes the actual practice casting more realistic as well. What a great deal for the price! If you want to teach a friend (or your kids or grandkids) to fly cast, this is the perfect tool.
