I am a 38 waist and these pants could be buttoned at the waist. They look like great pant for hiking and fishing but the European XL runs smaller than the US. The fabric is not light but looks very durable. Unfortunately ST only had size XL. XXL would probably work for me.

One of my favorite things about STP is the opportunity to try high end products sans retail pricing. "Step above" certainly applies here. While more jacket than described "sweater", a great fall workout layer and winter sport mid later. Very well thought out details. (Love the cross-zip resulting in cleverly shielded cover to the side of the neck, rather than over Adam's apple. ) construction is hardy. Should last forever.

This jacket is remarkably over engineered and this incredibly useful. Look up online reviews and you will find a great video summary of everything this Jack has to offer. STP's description doesn't come close to explaining all the features. It is an incredible deal from STP. I have used it skiing on multiple occasions now and it has proven invaluable. It has a built in fleece neck/face shield that was a god send two weekends ago when the high was 7 with a wind chill well below zero. I wore a Smartwool lightweight top, a black diamond zip up fleece as a mid layer and this jacket as my shell. With the hood up and neck gaiter deployed I was perfectly comfortable. It has also taken a beating while skiing trees without a single blemish or tear indicating it will hold up very well. All that and it will pack down and zip up into its own pocket making it extremely lightweight and packable for year round use backpacking or day hiking so I will be ready for anything. This jacket is the best purchase I have made in years. Add all those features to the crazy insane price from STP and this is an absolute no brainer.
