Most Helpful 5-Star Review

5.0 out of 5 stars. Great Basic Down Jacket

I purchased this jacket to replace a heavily worn North Face jacket that was feeling thin and less warm than when new. This was a perfect replacement--it is a very standard, down jacket. It has excellent adjustment around the bottom for a tighter fit, nice internal chest pocket, and very solid/practical exterior pockets and velcro adjustments to keep it as tight as you want around the wrists. 600 Fill is perfect for my use--as a primary day-to-day jacket in Minnesota/Dakotas during cold winter days and as a layer under my heavy North Face Storm Jacket for extremely cold weather and when snowblowing or ice-fishing in bitter wind-chills. This is not a "stylish" jacket--very basic and perfect for my use.

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Runs big

This is a nice down jacket that seems to be well made. My one complaint is that is runs way too big. I usually wear a medium. I had to exchange for a small. Fortunately, Sierra's return process makes it super easy!

About Marmot

Conceived in a university dorm room by a pair of climbing buddies, Marmot Mountain Works first opened its doors in the spring of 1974 in Grand Junction, Colorado. At the time, the base of operations was a 100-year-old stone building. That same year, the first Marmot down jacket was produced specifically for an action flick called “The Eiger Sanction,” starring legendary actor Clint Eastwood. In the four decades since, Marmot has continued to engineer reliable gear that exceeds the expectations of outdoor athletes. Today, Marmot tents, backpacks, outerwear, clothing and Marmot sleeping bags are still pushing the limits in the planet’s most challenging conditions, from the summits of the world’s highest mountains to the deepest river basins.
