Most Helpful 5-Star Review

5.0 out of 5 stars. NOT a fit for fuller hips, but a top - notch down vest

Wish it were shorter or had a bit of flare at the hips--almost returned it but decided it could still work okay under another layer. It doesn't look like it has much fill, but that's the point of quality down-- less bulk yet great warmth. I've used it every day going to work and feeding the horses during our recent cold spell (to 5°) and it has made the difference between misery and not minding. Stylish, with smart features and high - quality construction. Best for a longer torso (I'm taller but short-waisted) or ladies with narrower hips. Sizing seems true.

Throw over a sweater, or under a rain shell...stuff in your computer bag...nice!

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Looks great!

I ordered a large (they didn't have a medium) on the off-chance this may have fitted but alas it was way too big so definitely for a bigger gal. I liked the look of the construction and the green color but will have to wait for another time when they have my size.

About Marmot

Conceived in a university dorm room by a pair of climbing buddies, Marmot Mountain Works first opened its doors in the spring of 1974 in Grand Junction, Colorado. At the time, the base of operations was a 100-year-old stone building. That same year, the first Marmot down jacket was produced specifically for an action flick called “The Eiger Sanction,” starring legendary actor Clint Eastwood. In the four decades since, Marmot has continued to engineer reliable gear that exceeds the expectations of outdoor athletes. Today, Marmot tents, backpacks, outerwear, clothing and Marmot sleeping bags are still pushing the limits in the planet’s most challenging conditions, from the summits of the world’s highest mountains to the deepest river basins.
