Great coat if you want something that is a little less "techy" looking. It has a lot of great features, Membrain waterproofing, a highly rated synthetic insulation, waterproof hand and chest pockets, a couple nice interior pockets and a longer length than usual with a heavy duty two-way front zip. The collar is nice and high with a rib knit liner and the zip off hood fits nicely. Not sure of a comparable coat with all of these features for the price from STP.

About Marmot

Conceived in a university dorm room by a pair of climbing buddies, Marmot Mountain Works first opened its doors in the spring of 1974 in Grand Junction, Colorado. At the time, the base of operations was a 100-year-old stone building. That same year, the first Marmot down jacket was produced specifically for an action flick called “The Eiger Sanction,” starring legendary actor Clint Eastwood.
