    The black coat has the white and black stitching throughout so it is not entirely black. It has the Pendleton lumberjack lined-design inside that I like. The hood can be zipped into the pouch - I appreciate that even though the hood can be stowed away that it is the same color and material of the rest of the jacket. I have been turned-off by many jackets that have a cheap/mismatching hood. I have brought this to Maui and it was very comfortable in the humid showers. I live in San Francisco so although it feels thin, the material is very warm. It seems breathable and easy to pack. I have had no issues with it. It is a very discreet jacket, the only way you would know that it was Pendleton is if you looked at the labeling.

    I have gotten so many complements on this jacket. It's not as fitted as a structured jacket would be--which is to be excepted--but if you are looking for a comfy, beautifully made, layering vest, this is it!
