I live on a river in a very rock hilly slippery area and feel confident wearing these shoes that I will maintain my footing. They are strong sturdy shoes that I prefer in my area. A light tennis shoe does not cut it for me. I have worn these making the slippery climb up to my son’s house in the winter and back down on an icy slope and never lost footing. Honestly never had a shoe I could feel this confident wearing. I hope Sierra will continue to stock them.

This is my third pair that I got to keep for when the others get worn. I have this model in the boot as well. They are rigid sturdy shoes that I feel very confident wearing while walking on loose gravel or even icy inclines. They keep my feet dry as well. The laces are very slim and I was concerned they may break over time but so far have proven to be very strong for their thin composition. They have an excellent fit with the right amount of snug and roomy by adjusting laces. I tried to find someplace to take advantage of the custom fit system but was unsuccessful around my rural area. Out of the box, the fit is awesome but was curious to how they could possibly be better. I live in a rocky hilly slippery area and these are my favorite shoes.

The build quality seems comparable to Asolo, Salewa, etc.. I use these in northern Arizona so the sticky Vibram sole is a nice feature. Fitment seems spot on although these were designed to utilize a special Tecnica designed fitting system (heat and compression to assure a better fit). The fitting system seems to have disappeared, but the fit seems good anyway. Worth a shot, particularly at STP’s price point.
