Having suffered from several foot injuries during his tennis career, Tim Brennan eventually decided that his conventional athletic shoes were to blame and set about creating his own. By the time he officially launched VivoBarefoot shoes in 2004, Brennan had already spent five years on research and development, which included input from sixth generation shoemaker Galahad Clark. At the time, VivoBarefoot running shoes and tennis shoes were the first minimalist athletic shoes engineered with ultra-thin, puncture-resistant soles designed to offer lightweight shock absorption and sensory feedback. The concept took off, and minimalist footwear has been gaining momentum ever since. Today, VivoBarefoot shoes are available in more than 50 different models, from trail running shoes to chukkas. 1.0 out of 5 stars. Flimsy. Junk. Too largeReviewed by GeeDubs from San diego. on Saturday, July 4, 2026I wear a size 42 European. These shoes extended a half inch from my big toe. They are very thin and flimsy- not just the sole, but the upper as well. The colors are white and rainbow and look ridiculous. I was only going to wear them in the garage while working out but I couldn’t even do that they were so hideous. This was my first pair of vivo shoes and I am returning them.

I have purchased other barefoot shoes in the past. I recently purchased the VivoBarefoot Primus Lite III Running Shoes in size 41. When I tried them on they were at least one size to big. I had about one inch of wiggle room. I will be returning the shoes. Unfortunately Sierra doesn't have any sizes smaller than 41 in this shoe.
Do yourself a favor and order a size smaller than you normally wear. -
