  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. Amazingly soft leather, some flaws in quality

Mixed feelings about these shoes. They were a bit pricey even with a coupon and by Sierra Trading Post standards, but also had the softest and most luxurious leather I've ever felt. While I like the idea that they were made in collaboration with a "humanitarian group," there were some obvious flaws in the quality of the construction. There was a dark line drawn in pen that hadn't quite been covered up by the sole (you can actually see this in the photos if you zoom way in), a few remnant glue spots, and some of the stitching seemed a bit weak. The fit seemed a bit large compared to other Vivobarefoot shoes. Both sizes I ordered (41 and 42) were too long, when normally I wear a US men's 8.5. Had to return them just because of the size.

About VivoBarefoot

Having suffered from several foot injuries during his tennis career, Tim Brennan eventually decided that his conventional athletic shoes were to blame and set about creating his own. By the time he officially launched VivoBarefoot shoes in 2004, Brennan had already spent five years on research and development, which included input from sixth generation shoemaker Galahad Clark. At the time, VivoBarefoot running shoes and tennis shoes were the first minimalist athletic shoes engineered with ultra-thin, puncture-resistant soles designed to offer lightweight shock absorption and sensory feedback. The concept took off, and minimalist footwear has been gaining momentum ever since. Today, VivoBarefoot shoes are available in more than 50 different models, from trail running shoes to chukkas. Vivo the revolution.
